Webb Champ Mills built to last... built the way a mill should be built!

Construction features include a Heavily Ribbed Certified Meehanite Casting, not some cheap gray iron frame.. The Castings are furnace aged for stabilization. Hardened and Ground Ways. We use Turcite on all female surfaces. Turcite is a bronze impregnated Teflon that helps to eliminate stick slip and further protects the way surface. All your CNC machines are built with this process as it extends the life of the machine greatly. Of course we use the best assembly components available to insure longevity and to stamp out down time.

The Table and Saddle backlash is controlled by a double-bronze nut design that keeps the Chrome feed screws in contact with a the nuts at all times. Further the end of the table and saddle we use thrust bearings that pre-load the feed screw, eliminating endplay and increasing the precision of the machine.

The NEW Age EVS Webb Milling Machine Head... like no other!

 

Webb's EVS  Electronic Variable Speed Mill Heads use an AC inverter (similar to what they use on CNC machines) that increase and decrease the spindle speed  by turning a potentiometer left or right to a digitally displayed RPM... Candidly this is trick... the electronic head delivers full torque throughout the rpm range... no belts to change no collapsing pulleys,, .Fewer moving parts... equals more precision... and high reliability.
